Thrift Stores = Good
Now I’m no hippie, indie, hipster, emo, so forth so on bum. So please do not think that my fashion nor my wardrobe comes out of the back of a salvation army truck as though I’m some third world political refugee… If that’s how you dress that’s your prerogative and I leave it to you. I had to dress like that in my younger years so I prefer to avoid it.
However I do like to occasionally peruse thirft stores and consignment shops to see if I make any good finds. Usually I’m looking for a good blazer I can add some slacks to for work use. Being the big guy I am it’s not easy to find anything really.
Then… there is the rare event. The thing that made running my hands through grubby old clothing, standing next to people who have just stopped caring about hygiene or stopped affording it (I can accept and even respect not affording, I actually know how that can be, I lived a Punk lifestyle once) completely worth the effort. Recently I found something of the sort.

A Tweed Pendleton Western Jacket. It is in absolutly perfect condition from top to bottom almost as if it had never been worn. This coat once retailed in the $200 to $300 dollar price range. I purchased this for all of $1 dollar from the Edmond, OK Goodwill. I bought it because to my very incredible surprise it fit.
This is why I go to thrift stores, and because of this find this is I why I will once again pickup my habit of going every Saturday or Sunday to see what I can find.
